Child Dedication

Parents have about 3000 hours a year with their children. Looking at this number alone, we know that parents are the biggest influence in a child’s life. As a church, we want to partner with you in this parenting journey as you commit to leading your child with intentionality on their spiritual journey.

Child Dedication is when we come together as a church to celebrate your decision to parent with eternity in mind.

FAQs

What is the difference between child dedication and infant baptism?

We believe that baptism follows a personal decision that someone makes to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Child dedication celebrates parents' decision to raise their children in a Christ-centered home, in hopes that one day, their children will make their own decision to follow Jesus.

How old should my child be to get dedicated?

Most children who get dedicated at Lifepoint are 5 years old and under. Children of any age can be dedicated, but as they get older, they may be at a point where they have made, or want to make, their own decision to follow Jesus. If you wish to dedicate your older child, please let us know and we can walk you through what that would look like!

If my child gets dedicated, does that mean they will go to heaven?

Child Dedication does not guarantee that your child will choose to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all who have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our goal is to point kids to life by teaming up with parents. We’re passionate about this. It’s why we have dedicated, safe, age-appropriate environments just for your kids to learn about Jesus in creative, fun, and relevant ways each Sunday.
